Fewer words is better than more words.

E. B. White wrote in “Elements of Style”: “Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should contain no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts.”

This applies to any written work, whether a brochure, a white paper, an article, a blog post or website content.

  1. Great Blog!!!

I am a MFA student in Creative Writing. I am writing a novel for my thesis. Using too many words in writing and when speaking is something I am guilty of because I feel such a need to explain exerything in detail.

However, I agree with what you are saying. I do not like read posts without subject headings, posts that are long, and/or when the writer rambles about nothing.

I like the style of you blog – very informative!
